Buying Guide for Golf/GPS Rangefinders

Golf GPS and Rangefinder Buying GuideGolf rangefinders or distance finders are fast becoming a golfer’s best friend. They help boost the confidence and improve a golfer’s skills and precision. There are countless golf rangefinders you can find on the market today. There is a multitude of golf rangefinders under different manufacturers, with different specifications, designs, features and prices to choose from. The important thing is to know and understand these various differences.

There are two types of golf range finders and both have advantages and disadvantages, these could help you identify the best golf rangefinder for you.

  • Golf GPS (Global Positioning System) Rangefinders

GPS devices have been acknowledged greatly and are widely used. A GPS is a mapping device that uses satellites to provide data positions. These devices communicate with aerial satellites, these satellites sends back signal accurately pointing your exact location and tracks the time between transmission and reception and uses the stored locations and gives the distance of any relevant position near you. The correct and precise positions of the satellites are saved in the GPS device by the manufacturer.

Golf GPS Rangefinders have been introduced and well received in the golf marketplace. They provide a fast and accurate way of determining the distance from the ball to the target you are aiming for. Golf GPS Rangefinders can give you color course maps that can that provides favorable concepts of hole layouts. It gives precise distance measurements and offers exact yardage from the position where your ball lies.

GPS Rangefinder devices resemble mobile phones with regards to the appearance; they have display screens and buttons. The unit’s antenna obtains signals from a system of satellites that are positioned in space. The unit’s software utilizes those signals to determine its location on the golf course.

It accurately calculates the distance of the target by measuring the time elapsed for the laser to bounce off and return from the target to the rangefinder.

Golf laser rangefinders provide the most precise method and have the capacity to obtain exact distance to the pin, false fronts and different tiers on the green. They can also give the distance reading to any point on the hole. In terms of accuracy, laser rangefinders offer an excellently accurate degree of accuracy.
